Sawa Donuts













Origin: Cameroon

For 150-180 donuts

Ingredients:

500g of white flour
100-120g of butter
6-8 eggs
250-300g sugar
Vanilla sugar
Lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
11g of baking powder

Sunflower or vegetable oil

Directions:


Sift the flour
Incorporate the eggs (whole) and sugar in a large bowl
Mix until you obtain a paste with a consistency
Add vanilla sugar, lemon zest and nutmeg
Add the baking powder at the very end

Pour sunflower oil in a deep pan
Heat until very hot and turn the heat down
Dip your fingers in water then in the paste to form a donut
Put in the oil and remove when brown

Serve warm
